Recycling-Orientated Society Initiatives
The increase in industrial waste is causing various environmental problems such as insufficient final landfill sites and soil contamination due to waste. To change social practices of large-volume production, consumption, and waste, the forming of a recycling-orientated society is a must.
Building a Resource Recycling System
The NICHIAS Group carries out initiatives with the target of reducing its industrial waste by 30% compared to fiscal 2019 (reference fiscal year) by fiscal 2030.In its efforts to reduce waste, NICHIAS believes that “waste is the source of futility” and has outlined its policy of curbing the sources of waste (Reduce), reusing resources (Reuse), and recycling resources (Recycle). NICHIAS promotes reducing failure rates, improving productivity and yields, reusing resources within processes, and recycling resources internally and externally.
Collecting and Recycling Sold Products
The NICHIAS Group has acquired certification from the Industrial Waste Wide Area Certification System for its rock wool products, and is engaged in the collection and recycling of rock wool product scraps generated at its customers’ plants and construction sites.
*The Industrial Waste Wide Area Certification System is a system that, after being certified by the Minister of the Environment, allows companies to collect waste from their own products over a wide area and use them as raw materials for the corresponding products. In addition to its rock wool products, the NICHIAS Group has acquired wide area certification for its ceramic fiber products and calcium silicate board products.
