Solvent Absorbent “HONEYCLETM” Filter that Absorbs Harmful VOCs

HONEYCLETM has diameters from approximately 1 to 4 meters and has numerous honeycomb-structured holes on its surface. They act as filters that absorb harmful VOCs* emitted from factories and other facilities.
Factories using large volume of paints, print ink, adhesives and thinners emit VOCs. Such VOCs evaporate in the atmosphere and become gases, which react with sunlight (ultraviolet rays) and creates photochemical smog. In recent years, both the public and private sectors have been promoting measures to control VOC emissions from factories, and our HONEYCLETM is performing well as a part of such measures.
The holes on the surface of HONEYCLETM have honeycomb structure. It allows HONEYCLETM to get larger surface area per cubic volume of the filters, which increases the area where the filters can contact the air and allows absorption of VOCs in the air, thereby sending out clean air into the atmosphere.
The diagram on the right below shows an example of equipment using HONEYCLETM. Inside, it is divided into two units—a treatment zone, where VOCs are absorbed by HONEYCLETM and clean air is sent out to the atmosphere, and a concentrating zone, where VOCs attached to HONEYCLETM are collected by sending heated air from the atmosphere. HONEYCLETM rotates as slow as 4 to 10 rotations per hour and moves through the two units alternately, which allows uninterrupted use while maintaining high-purification performance.
Although HONEYCLETM had been delivered mainly for domestic markets, in recent years, delivery record in global markets has been increasing, especially to areas with remarkable industrial development, reflecting rising environmental awareness in such areas. Moving forward, we will aggressively strive to contribute to cleaner overseas factories.
Harnessing our technology to sustain clean air in the atmosphere, we will continue to contribute to the brighter future of the earth, while supporting various industries.

*VOC: Volatile Organic Compound contained in paints, print ink, adhesives and other chemical agents. Major VOCs include toluene, xylene and ethyl acetate.
